"Winter" Wonderland

From Saturday to Tuesday, I spent my time in the mountains constantly falling in 6.5 feet of snow. All of Monday I spent inside because I felt really sick which sucked. That day my dad and his friend that was with us went up the road that leads to a dam (it provides power for the cabins) on cross country skis
and ran into two avalanches, but thankfully didn't get hurt. They said one just almost silently came down the hill and they were only about fifty feet from it when it crossed the road. I tried out the skis on Tuesday and went back into the woods (they are pretty fun though I did almost fall into some tree wells a couple of times). On Saturday and Sunday though I did what I normally do on vacations, go have fun with a camera. The lighting was just perfect and the broken cloud allowed me to get some artsy fartsy pictures of the mountains. The dogs in the pictures do not belong to me; the chocolate lab mix (for some reason I got a lot of good pictures of him) belongs to a friend that came up with us (not the one mentioned before) and left on Sunday and the blonde and black shepherd-like dog belongs to the caretaker that lives up at the cabins. In the picture with the snow and the rafters, there was a sheet of snow that came up and curved in then curved out again and attached itself to the roof. The whole trip was too much fun. It was also the first time in ages we had gone up there in the snow and the first time I got to drive a snowmobile. The two hour trip along the snowed-in road went pretty well (even though the wash boarding was terrible), but on Sunday when I went for a little drive around the cabins and the powerhouse I made a magnificent swan dive into a snow bank. We spent about an hour digging the thing out.
