Photo Dump

Well, it appears I haven't posted anything in a heck of a long time. The reason for this is my Nikon D40 decided it just didn't want to work any more. It's the shutter, nothing about it seems to give a glimmer of hope of ever working again. Hopefully, I can get it sent off to be fixed soon. But, on the bright side, I still have been taking photos. Some with my little Canon Powershot A495 and the camera my dad purchased, a Canon Powershot S95. My freedom and creativity is somewhat limited on these cameras, but a few did pass my test to be posted. So here begins the gigantic photo dump...

Back in December, I took a trip down to my grandparents house in southern California and from there we drove up to the Palomar Observatory as a nice treat. The photos really don't do it justice; it is truly massive.

While still in California, my dad took me to a wildlife rehab center. This deer seemed to think the bars were quite tasty.

Over the past few months there was also a trip to Trinity again. The current caretaker happens to be a sled dog musher and owns two teams. So, here are the little darlings in all their glory.

This is the only cat (actually kitten) that has ever enjoyed my presence. Even though I'm not a cat person what so ever, I have to admit, it is pretty cute.

I looked out of my window at sunset recently. No magnificent colors, just a nice view of the clouds and Pollux.

Here is another sunset on a different night.

I just thought a candle would be nice.

I picked some daisies (and put them in a teacup since everything else was way too big). They seemed worthy candidates for photos, so here they are.

I know these aren't as good or as artsy fartsy as my photos have been (it's just the cameras I guess; I miss my Nikon!), and some of these are more reports from the recluse author of this blog. I'm going to try to post an entry at least once a week now, even though I don't have a working SLR. Photography is theraputic in a way. It forces me to look for the beautiful things in the world and those little things just make me happier. Boy do I need it; High School ain't easy.
