I am so thrilled I got to see the transit of Venus today. About a week
ago my dad purchased a piece of Shade 12 welder's glass (though I would
have preferred Shade 14, but that wasn't available) so we could safely view the transit. I was so bummed for most of yesterday and today because of all the rain. I thought I wouldn't be able to see it. I thought I would miss my chance to see the transit for another 105 years. But my dad, being his wonderful self, agreed to take me to Tacoma where the weather was clearer. I was surprised more people weren't outside watching the sun. This won't happen again until 2117! How could they miss it? From what I saw, my dad and I were the only crazies staring at the sun at 8:00pm. I know this isn't a normal post, but I just had to write something about this wonderful escapade.
I will soon be back taking photos. I know I didn't keep my promise on the once a week posts, but I've been swamped with end-of-the-year school work.
